A collab pic of Mona, in what will eventually be
the 404 graphic

UPDATE 2 - 8-5-24

The nice thing about a social media hiatus is that you don't
have to worry about maintaining an update schedule. And the
nice thing about social media is you don't have to worry
about things like 'which of these silly directories is
going to become loadbearing' when you're sorting out things
like posting goofy pictures.

We're working on a rotating cast of 'no minors'
images for the landing page, so keep an eye out
for that.

SO. THIS SITE...

Yeah! So this site does have a stated goal beyond 'be the
place Ependa and I post our artwork from here on out.' What
I can say about it at the moment is that all our plans are
geared towards carrying on in the spirit of the Werewolves
Versus anthologies that have already been published
, with
full blessings from the anthology's creator, who also happens
to be our technical lead on the dev phase of the project.

We plan on coming at it in a more organically-ongoing way
befitting a full-on, regularly-updated website. And if we're
real lucky-- well.

I don't want to get ahead of myself.

An unexpected treasure of the downtime was getting a
chance to work harder on my girl Mona, so she and Toska
are probably going to feature quite a bit in site
graphics and promos. Like this 'under construction'
thumbnail Ependa did.

OKAY, BUT WHAT'S THIS INTERIM SITE?

Just that. Best to think of it as a devblog of sorts that
I (Dogblud) will be writing on a semi-regular basis. I don't
want to make any promises about update schedules just yet,
so let's just say I'm aiming for semi-weekly. Some of it'll
be technical stuff when there's news on that front, but the
lion's share will be WIP sketches and writings.

Which, conversely, is why you see more of Ependa's artwork
than mine. I've been doing the writing and admin, while she's
been handling the art side of things. That, and there's a
lot of stuff I've finalized that we don't want to release
into the wild just yet.

Some panel thumbnails from a Phoebe/Lacey story that
we've been kicking around for almost a year now.

NOW ON TO WHAT'S NEW

Too much to show in one update, which is a good problem to
have! It means I have a very healthy 'ahead of schedule'
buffer of work to choose from when I'm putting these things
together.

Project notes will be a bit vague just due to my own growing
superstitions about spilling the beans too early. What I can
say though is that Ependa and I have put a lot of focus on
the actual workflow side of things, with an eye towards the
work being sustainable and not burnout-inducing.

PICS OF THE (UNDEFINED TIME PERIOD)

Staring with Ependa's first. She chose, in order

  • A Phoebe/Lacey sketch in which their Tyrian counterparts spend some NSFW time together.
  • A gorgeous character study of Lacey.
  • A very sweet doodle of Mona and Toska she did while I was developing Mona's background.

  • And now for my picks~

  • Technically a collaboration (Ependa did the underlying sketch) that I ended up turning into more of an outright character study. This would be Lacey's summer pelt.
  • Promo piece for Lacey that I need to play around with a bit more.
  • An old piece of Mona that I've been reworking.

  • Last, the collabs!

This isn't a series of images so much as it is a bunch of character studies. People may have noticed that the asura design I was dicking around with for "Phoebe" went a bit off the rails, and that this design was starting to take on a kind of life of its own.

If you guessed that that's because the design wasn't for Phoebe anymore, then congrats: you're right. I won't say who it is just yet, that's another story for another time. What I will say tho is that, yes, the sphynx gremlin variant is her own person, and there may be something a bit Fae about that.

Eyes in the second pic are the finalized appearance. For this form, anyway. :) (and the 'find' is indeed a nod to her/Phoebe's shared Darkest Dungeon inspo)

And that's it for now! I'll drop a note on my social media
accounts when another update is posted. Probably best not
to expect anything this extensive all the time since this
took a bit to assemble, but I plan on keeping everything
archived while this site continues to act as a blog, so
there'll still be plenty to look at.
